Sharon Osbourne Skips ‘The Talk’ Taping Following Divorce Rumors
Sharon Osbourne was noticeably missing from today’s (May 9) episode of The Talk, just a day after rumors began circulating online that she and husband Ozzy Osbourne were set to divorce following 33 years of marriage.
Osbourne's The Talk co-host Julie Chen addressed her absence at the start of the episode, saying Osbourne took the day off after rumors about the split gained traction in the press over the weekend.
“Before we get started, as you can see, Sharon is not here today,” Chen began. “There were many tabloid headlines this past weekend about her and Ozzy -- rumors and speculation that they have split up after nearly 34 years of marriage. Sharon understandably took today off.”
Chen didn’t address the veracity of the rumors, instead offering her public support to Osbourne. She continued, “We are sending all of our love to her and her family, and we ask that you do the same."
While a relapse into drug and alcohol use on Ozzy’s part caused the couple to first split back in 2013, the pair eventually reconciled once Ozzy sought treatment. This new breakup reportedly stems from cheating, according to an insider at E!, who claims Ozzy has been having an affair with celebrity hairstylist Michelle Pugh.
"I don't know how much more she can take," a source told PEOPLE about the reported infidelity. "It just weighs you down...Sharon has been pretty down."
The couple have yet to make an official statement on the state of their marriage.
