(KNUE-FM) It happens every year — time flies by, and here in Texas we’re left wondering: what are we going to do about Christmas? It’s always a fun and magical time whenever we can spend time with family and make memories. But there is also a lot of stress and pressure to buy certain items, in an effort to relieve some of that stress I wanted to make a list of ways we can help make Christmas less expensive.

Remind Loved Ones of Christmas’ True Meaning

I’m not the person to ever deliver bible verses, but I can guarantee you that Christmas was never based on how much money we can spend on gifts for loved ones. The holiday is not about getting new clothes or sneakers. So, if anyone in your family has an issue with trying to lower expenses for the Christmas holiday, remind them that buying things has nothing to do with the real meaning of Christmas.

Practical Ways to Save on Christmas

Stop putting so much pressure on yourself to spend so much money. Overspending will just make next year more difficult, especially if you add high interest credit card payments.
