Roller Derby Girls Help Longview Police

Have you ever seen a roller derby?  Those gals are tough!  They're in shape, they're determined, and any guy in the ring would have a tough time matching their ability to get feisty.  A roller derby is entertaining and amazing at the same time, and an East Texas team recently helped a popular charity with their event.

A Longview roller derby team held an even over the weekend to help the Longview Police Blue Santa program, and it went so well they'd like to make it an annual tradition.

Backwoods Bombshells Roller Derby gave 100 percent of its profits from tickets and concession to the Blue Santa program, so kids around Longview could have a great Christmas.  To find out more about Blue Santa and how you can help, visit the program's Facebook page.

The roller derby girls in Longview have another charity even planned for the spring to benefit Upshur County's no-kill animal shelter.
