Rogue One Rockets Past Christmas Competitors

The Star Wars saga tops the movie box office for a 2nd straight week, beating star-studded new releases by more than 2-1.  

Despite a long list of films featuring A-list casts that premiered in time for the Christmas theater rush, Rogue One finished #1 over the extra-long holiday weekend, doubling the ticket money brought in by the highly anticipated animated feature Sing.  None of the other new movies came close to the $$$ earned by the top 2.  Passengers debuted @ #3, with Assassin's Creed & Why Him in a virtual dead heat for the 4th & 5th positions.
