Rock Bands Needed for Liberty Hall’s ‘Battle of the Bands’
The Liberty Hall Theater is looking for local East Texas bands to compete in their first ever Battle of the Bands. If you want to get your name out there and win a spot in one of Tyler's best music shows of the year. Ready to show what you've got?
Starting now, Liberty Hall is accepting applicants for their "Rock, Paper, Scissors" battle of the bands. The battle will be held at 8 p.m. Aug. 17. This night will determine who really is the best band of the East Texas area.
Now, not just anyone can compete. Here are some of the guidelines.
"Bands who are interested in performing in this show should submit a DVD or link of their performance with a limit of two songs. The band can feature any genre of music and at least one song submitted must be an original. Bands must be from the East Texas area and must have at least two members, no solo acts. A panel of judges will review the music and narrow down the competition. The bands selected to move forward will be posted on Facebook and voted on by the public. The field will then be narrowed to five bands that will play in the concert on Aug. 17."
With all of this hard work, what are you looking forward to winning? First, you will get a chance to perform on the Liberty Hall stage in front of a full crowd! You also will get a professional recording of your performance to pass around to spread your name. The grand prize will be a spot in the line-up for the 'East Texas All Star Showcase.' This show is one of the largest in this area, taking over an entire street of downtown Tyler and Liberty Hall itself.
This is a great opportunity for your band. Why not take part in the "Rock, Paper, Scissors" show? You know you don't have an excuse.
