It’s common knowledge that everything is bigger in Texas, and that includes how we celebrate the holidays. We like things to be memorable and fun and when it comes to food it has to be delicious. Seeing as how I enjoy cooking; I was curious to find out what is the most popular Christmas recipe in the state of Texas, and I have to admit I was a little shocked when I found it online.

The website Eat This, Not That posted about the most popular Christmas recipes for each state. When looking at states around Texas, Louisiana’s most popular Christmas recipe is Sweet Potato Casserole, Oklahoma’s most popular recipe was for gravy. But when it comes to Texas, they say that our most popular Christmas recipe is for a big ol’ Christmas Turkey.

Do You Think That the Most Popular Christmas Recipe in Texas is Turkey?

We all enjoy turkey, especially when Texans get ahold of a bird and put on special seasonings or try cooking methods like deep frying the bird. But what was difficult for me to understand is why are so many people looking for that turkey recipe when we just cooked a turkey one month ago for Thanksgiving. I would think most people would remember that recipe.

What Is Your Favorite Christmas Recipe?

Personally, when it comes to Christmas recipes, I enjoy all the desserts, bring on the Christmas cookies, the Almond Roca, and the Peppermint Bark. Although this year I thought it would be a good idea to be healthy and do “No Dessert December” ... this might be one of the worst decisions I have ever made. But at least I am sticking to it.

So, what is your favorite Christmas recipe?
