Patrick Mahomes continues to make East Texas proud. The Whitehouse native, Texas Tech star, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and 2018 NFL Most Valuable Player will now, sort of, give broadcasting a try.

According to KLTV, Patrick Mahomes will be a part of ABC's and ESPN's 2019 NFL draft coverage. Mahomes will be part of a team that includes Good Morning America's Robin Roberts, a former ESPN host, and College Gameday anchor Rece Davis.

Mahomes himself was the 10th pick in the 2017 draft and lead the league this past season with 50 touchdown passes and over 5,000 yards passing helping to earn NFL MVP in only his second season and first as a starter.

Mahomes lead the Chiefs to the AFC Championship game last season but lost, 37-31, to eventual Superbowl champion New England Patriots. Mahomes will back with an almost intact offense under head coach Andy Reid.

Keep it up Patrick, East Texas is rooting for you.
