Drunk Drivers Now Forced to Listen to Nickelback in Canada

The terribleness of Nickelback can be exaggerated for days on end, making them a punchline to anybody with ears. It begs the question: Is their music so bad it can be considered actual torture? That seems to be a legitimate question now, thanks to the Canadian town of Kensington, according to CNN. Kensington's police force is taking an unusual approach to curbing drinking and driving this holiday season — threatening anyone who chooses to drive drunk with a ride to the jail cell, soundtracked by Nickelback. The police force posted a picture of Nickelback's 2001 album Silver Side Up (a cassette copy to boot, which raises even more questions) on Facebook, with a long message to any potential law-breakers, saying, "On top of a hefty fine, a criminal charge and a year's driving suspension, we will also provide you with a bonus gift of playing the office's copy of Nickelback in the cruiser on the way to jail."

It's an incredibly serious issue, one that's being treated with clearly severe consequences, and a punishment that will hopefully be enacted in all cities very soon. Let us remember Silver Side Up's greatest single, the anti-domestic abuse anthem "Never Again."
