Yes believe it or not, Texas has its own hypercar. One that can rival huge names in the supercar/hypercar world like Bugatti or Koenigsegg. And that's all thanks to one Texas company founded by John Hennessey. That car company is called...well... Hennessey Performance.

Where was Hennessey Performance founded in Texas & what's the fastest car they've built?

The Sealy, Texas company was originally founded in 1991 as a company that specialized in making FASTER version of existing cars like the Dodge Demon, the Exorcist (a more powerful version of the Camaro ZL1, and the Hennessey Venom 650R.

However they've been known to create their own original creations. They one that's really been grabbing people's attention is the Hennessey Venom F5; an 1800 horsepower hypercar that can reach speeds nearly up to 300 mph that costs over $2 million dollars (what that's it??).

What's it like to drive a Hennessey Venom F5?

Well the car expert Doug DeMuro reviewed the Venom F5 on his YouTube channel; he explored the interior & exterior of the car, as well as pointed out some...Texas easter eggs on the car itself. He even took it for a test drive, he managed to get up to 150 mph before slowing. By the way, if you DO own this car, don't drive this fast on the streets; keep it on the track.

You can see an in-depth look on the inside of the car below.

What's the fastest the Hennessey Venom F5 has gone?

Hennessey already had an amazing speed record under their belt; their Venom GT hit an astonishing 270 mph. The Venom F5 however, went even faster... a blistering 271.6 mph.

And that's just the shot from the inside of the car; the car looks INSANE at those speeds from the outside.

So it's not quite 300 mph but that's still pretty dang close! However Hennessey Performances promised as recently as February 2024 that they will keep trying to break the 300 mph barrier. As of right now, the Venom F5 is still ranked in the top 10 of the world's fastest cars in the world.

I don't doubt they can beat the 300 mph barrier in the future. When they do, it'll be an extremely proud day for Texas. But for now, we SHOULD still be proud of the successes at Hennessey for building such an insanely fast ride in the name of the Lone Star State.
