If you're looking to buy video games in Texas, GameStop is the biggest retailer for video games and video game items. Usually, the stuff they sell is what’s new or current, not from 20 or 30 years ago. Other stores will sell retro games and consoles like One More Level & EP Games.

However, GameStop has decided to get back to selling classic video games and video game consoles with their new line of stores called GameStop Retro. These stores just opened up in the United States earlier this week. The store allows people to buy old-school consoles such as the Nintendo 64/Nintendo Gamecube, the original Playstation consoles & even the original Xbox among many many others.

In case you’re wondering, yes, there are GameStop retro stores in the state of Texas

I was surprised that there is indeed one in El Paso, Texas. However, the only one that you can find is the one found on Post at 1614 Pleasonton Rd d109, Fort Bliss, TX 79906 located at Freedom Crossing.

After I called the store, they did confirm that they are the only GameStop retail store in Texas and this is also a GameStop Retro store. There might be more in the future, but right now that is the only one found in El Paso.

But that is NOT the only one found in Texas. There are various ones found around big cities like Dallas, Austin, and Houston. This also includes neighboring cities like Arlington, Tyler, Allen & The Woodlands.

If you’re curious about finding the nearest GameStop Retro store to where you live, you can find the closest one by using the official GameStop Retro store locator & entering your zip code.

This is not the only retro store that's returned in Texas; Blockbuster has come back too -- called Free Blockbuster. You can find their Texas locations here.
