Some of the most notable city names come from Texas; Dallas, San Antonio, Houston... these cities are what you think of when thinking of the biggest from Texas. Other names are quite hilarious that exist in Texas include Ding Dong, Bigfoot, and Bacon.

However, there's one that the Internet seems to agree is one of the most depressing sounding in the world & it's hard to argue with them...Little Hope, Texas.

Where is Little Hope, Texas & what does it look like?

All you need to do to find Little Hope is travel to Wood County (that's near both Arkansas & Louisiana), and if you get to the intersection of Highway 154 & Farm Rd 312, you will indeed find Little Hope, Texas. And well...here it is...

So why is Little Hope, Texas nearly abandoned?

The town USED to be much bigger in the 1800s; it was founded in 1850 & one of the biggest buildings was the Woodmen of the World Lodge. People stayed in the town until about the late 80s, when it was revealed that most people had left. By 2000, only about 25 people make up the total population.

While I'll admit, the grass and scenery can be nice to look at, with a name like "Little Hope", it's no surprise that most people consider this place to be one of the most depressing-sounding towns in the entire United States.

While Little Hope might be smaller, it's still bigger than the smallest town in Texas. You can read about that story here.
