Chip & Joanna Gaines’ Expensive Hotel is Now Open in Texas
The Fixer Uppers are at it again and have officially opened what could possibly be their biggest project yet: Hotel 1928 in Waco, Texas!
The home flipping couple, and HGTV royalty, ended their fixer upper show in 2018 and have since focused on Magnolia Homes, a remodeling and design business in Waco, Texas. Now, their new hotel is open and the people are loving it!
Hotel 1928 is located at 701 Washington Ave. And it is named, appropriately, after the year that the building was originally built in- 1928. A one night stay though may set you back a couple hundred bucks- a one night stay will cost you over $300!
The flipping of this hotel had a television premiere on Magnolia Network, also a Chip and Joanna Gaines project, where they showcased the transformation over the course of four years!
The building had been gathering dust for too long and it should come as no surprise that the fixer upper couple were the ones to take on the challenge of bringing it back! But while some are excited that the hotel is sure to bring in revenue to the city of Waco, others are not so happy.
Not too long ago it was reported that although the HGTV show was wildly popular and brought in a bunch of tourists, it also brought in new residents and raised home values and property taxes!
Hotel 1928 offers 33 rooms, 2 restaurants, a coffee bar and rooftop bar with beautiful views! One of the great things about this hotel is that you don't have to be a guest of the hotel to enjoy their restaurants and bar! You can find out more here.
