Texas Lottery Confirms Texas-sold Powerball Ticket Wins Monday’s Top Prize
Not many Texans look forward to Monday. Despising the first day of the work week is a common theme from Paris, Texas in the northeastern part of the state to well beyond Midland and Odessa in the Permian Basin. Monday's aren't real popular in the Panhandle either, but around Austin, the home of the Texas Lottery, they look forward to Mondays.
No, it's not that Texans don't mind hard work, they would just rather be having fun, like the kind of fun you can have on the weekend. Or, the kind of fun you can have when you have instant millions in your bank account thanks to some good luck and the Powerball lottery.
And while Texans might not look forward to Monday, the work day, they don't seem to mind Monday night, the home for football and big-money lottery drawings. You see the Texas Lottery participates in two big money lottery games on Mondays. There is the multi-state Powerball lottery game. And there is the Texas original, Lotto Texas with Extra! That game has an enormous payout potential as well.
Last night there were drawings in both of those games and we have some interesting and financially rewarding results to relay to you. First, let's look at the Powerball drawing for February 3, 2025.
Based on the numbers at the time of the drawing, the estimated annuitized jackpot for Monday night's Powerball was $101 million. The cash option for a winning ticket on Monday was listed at $45.8 million. Our sources at Powerball did confirm that no ticket sold for Monday's drawing matched the numbers needed to claim the $101 million.
But we were informed that a Texas-sold ticket actually earned the top prize awarded on Monday's drawing. There were no Match 5 Million winners so the largest prize available would be $50,000. A player could earn that by matching four of the five white balls and the Powerball. A Texas-sold ticket not only hit that match scenario, but the ticket's purchaser also opted for the Powerplay multiplier.
In last night's game, the Power Play boosted any winning ticket by "3" if the player had opted in for it. So that $50,000 prize is now a $150,000 prize. Let's see if it belongs to you, shall we?
Here are the Powerball numbers for February 2, 2025.

The Texas Lottery confirmed that 23,616 tickets sold for Monday's Powerball were winners. So check your numbers here and then, if you think you've won, verify that ticket at the Official Texas Lottery website. You can also get the "official word" by visiting the Official Powerball website. Both of those sites can direct you to prize redemption information as well.
You will also want to visit the Texas Lottery site to check your Lotto Texas with Extra! numbers. That game drew for a top prize of $76.5 million. There was no jackpot winner but four tickets did earn a prize of $12,193 for matching five of six in the game.
The Lotto Texas jackpot will grow to $77.5 million for Wednesday's drawing. The Powerball jackpot on Wednesday will climb to $113 million. Oh, and tonight's Mega Millions jackpot is a tidy $77 million.
Please remember that most lottery tickets purchased do not result in a return on investment, so don't play if you can't afford to lose money. If you have a gambling problem, call 1-800-GAMBLER.
