World’s Smallest Buc-ee’s ‘Reopens’ on Hwy 90 in Texas
The world's smallest Buc-ee's mysteriously appeared in West Texas back in 2022 but quickly disappeared. It has now made its triumphant return.
The World's Smallest Bucc-ee's
Sevierville, Tennessee is home to the world's biggest Buc-ee's gas station-country store, clocking in at an enormous 74,000 square feet and boasting 120 gas pumps.
However, that title will soon go to a new Buc-ee's being built in Marion County, Florida.
When completed, the new Florida Buc-ee's location will be a massive 80,000 square feet.
Dang...that's a whole lot of Beaver Nuggets.
That's cool and all, but what about the world's smallest Buc-ee's location?
Last month, the world's smallest Buc-ee's "reopened" on Highway 90 between Sanderson and Marathon, Texas.
You won't be able to find any delectable Beaver Nuggets, use any of their sparkling clean restrooms, or even get gas.
What's being called the world's smallest Buc-ee's is actually an art installment, a repurposed phoneline service shack.
First appearing in 2022, the newly "reopened" world's smallest Buc-ee's is now equipped with a historical marker that reads -
"Originally established April 1st, 2022, this Buc-ee's location served the area faithfully despite its lack of operating hours, bathrooms, employees or a home decor section.
It was an important content stop for weary Instagram influencers and other travelers on the famous Marfa trail."
There's also a QR code that people can scan to donate to the artist who created it, Matt Tumlinson, for his legal fees, and fund future art projects.
