East Texans are like no other people on the planet. We are so proud of Texas, but many of us don't want to see the change that has happened in the big cities like Houston or Austin. The slower pace is something that we love, and there are certain sayings in East Texas that other people might not understand. Heck, there are sayings that East Texans say that they don't realize how East Texan they truly sound.

East Texas Has Its Own Language

While there might be some different vocabulary words used here, just about everyone knows the meaning behind them. But I thought it might be fun to talk about some of those old sayings, especially for anyone new to the East Texas area.

Sure, a few of these old sayings could have made their way on to an old Jeff Foxworthy comedy special back in the day. But again, we like the more traditional or old school ways of life here in East Texas so there is no need to change things now.
