Buc-ee’s Has Launched Another Logo Battle, This Time in Ohio
(Lake Jackson, Texas) - Buc-ee's has been growing its footprint across the United States over the last decade or so. They want to bring their behemoth gas stations to as many people as possible. Most love it while a select few will grown at the sight of a Buc-ee's.
That expansion has resulted in some time in the courtroom. Buc-ee's doesn't like businesses that have a logo that is even remotely similar to theirs. I'll be honest, a couple of these lawsuits were legitimate. A couple of others have been a stretch. This one seems legitimate.
Buc-ee's History in the Courtroom Over Logos
Buc-ee's has no issues going after logos that even remotely resemble theirs (KNUE). There was a Bukys in Sugarland that Buc-ee's had to take down in 2021. Buc-ee's went after Choke Canyon BBQ in 2018 because of their alligator logo. Both of those suits Buc-ee's won.
Buc-ee's is expanding into the state of Ohio. That location is expected to open on April 6 at I-70 and State Route 235 in Huber Heights (fox26houston.com). Because of that opening, Buc-ee's has had to file a trademark infringement lawsuit against Mickey's, a chain of convenience stores in Ohio.

Buc-ee's Latest Logo Lawsuit in Ohio
Buc-ee's claims that Mickey's moose mascot logo is too similar their beaver logo. Buc-ee's may have a case since the Mickey's logo was changed in the summer of 2025. It's very possible that Mickey's took inspiration from Buc-ee's logo to create theirs.
That's just my speculation, though. It's too early to tell if this case will go anywhere. If Buc-ee's does win, Mickey's will have to make some dramatic changes to their logo.
