The First Super Bowl TD Was Scored by a Texan
The inaugural Super Bowl was played in Los Angeles in 1967. The Green Bay Packers would beat the Kansas City Chiefs 35-10.
In that game, the very first touchdown was scored by Max McGee. The White Oak, Texas native would go on to catch 7 passes for 138 yards, and two touchdowns...all this while supposedly enduring a wicked hangover.
Top Texas Performances of All Time
That performance by McGee, with or without a hangover, is worthy of one of the best Super Bowl achievements by a Texas native.
Patrick Mahomes has given two MVP performances that also account for some of the standout accomplishments of all time by a Texan.
But, other Lone Star State natives have left their mark at past Super Bowls as well. Some of those we are recognizing below are quarterbacks, wide receivers, linemen, a running back, and even two kickers.
