Deep East Texas Students Excel at State UIL Academic Meet

When you hear the words UIL State Tournaments, what first comes to mind?

Many will be drawn to athletic competitions such as football, basketball, track, baseball, or softball. Student-athletes sacrifice many long hours of work to compete at a high level in sports.

Unfortunately, students who compete at UIL Academic State competitions sometimes get overlooked. That's a shame since these students also spend countless hours training, practicing, and preparing for this high level of brain-challenging encounters.

We thought we would highlight Deep East Texas area schools and their students who excelled at the UIL Academic State Meet in Austin. Students that finished in the top ten of their competition are highlighted, as are teams that finished in the top three.
