The wait is almost over! The 27th annual UT Tyler Suddenlink Patriot Million Dollar Hole In One contest is set for May 11-18. Save the dates and plan to join the fun and a chance to win one million dollars! If you're new to the Patriot Million Dollar Hole-In-One contest, than you really need to come out and join the fun. The event raises money for The University of Texas at Tyler's scholarship program. It's an amazing event and since it's inception, the Patriots organization has raised more than one million for UT Tyler scholarships.

Here's how it works: during the week of May 11-14, folks can come out and hopefully make it to the finals. The contest is for amateur golfers age 18 and older. For the opportunity to compete, each participant will donate $1 per shot in preliminary daily rounds.

Daily qualifiers are those who hit a hole-in-one, as well as those who hit closest to the hole during the daily qualifying rounds. Those who qualify will advance to the finals where a hole-in-one will win $1 million, $25,000 or a 2013 Cadillac SRX. The contest finals will be held on Sunday, May 19 at Hollytree Country Club in Tyler

On Saturday, May 11 and Friday, May 17 the hole in one will feature extended hours and allow contestants to try and qualify until 11 p.m. under “The Night Lights.” The tee box and green will be well-lit for players and feature one additional qualifier each hour from 7 to 11 p.m.

I sit on the Patriot committee and couldn't be more proud of what this group does for the scholarship program. It's an awesome week and an awesome event, join us for all the fun!
