Headstone Company Putting QR Codes on Tombstones – A Good Idea? [POLL]
Welcome to 2013, where a company called Quiring is now putting QR codes on tombstones that allow you to pull up a website with information on the deceased person including pictures, video, and more. It's called a "Living Headstone" and I can't decide if this is a good idea or not.
The company promises a "living" memorial that will connect families for generations to come. The company creates a page for the deceased person much like a Facebook page. The page contains information about your loved one like a family heritage, photos, and even allows a place for comments by friends and family.
The technology can even be added to existing headstones for a reasonable price of $150.
Here is a Youtube video explaining the who thing
My question for you - is this a good idea? My parents are both deceased and I personally have a hard time seeing old pictures of them or especially hearing their voices in old home video's. On the other hand, I would love for my kids to be able to pull the videos up on their phones as they visit their grave site. What do you think?
