Say goodbye to the old T.G.I. Fridays in Tyler.

Sitting at the Loop 323 and Broadway traffic light yesterday about to turn north on to Broadway, I just happened to look over at the vacant T.G.I. Friday's building to see construction equipment in the parking lot and a large excavator taking down an exterior wall that was facing Big Lots. The other guys in the station vehicle that were with me didn't notice anything until I said 'goodbye to Friday's'!

They looked over in amazement too. It left all three of us wondering why the building is being torn down instead of just repurposed and also what's going to take its place too. Another restaurant perhaps, maybe a small convenience store or another bank! We often catch wind of what's coming to town before a lot of other people do, but honestly in this case we're stumped!

If you know what's going to take over this prime real estate in East Texas, please let us know in the comment section below.

The T.G.I. Friday's building has been sitting empty for over a year and a half, closing their doors back on July 1, 2018 after serving patrons at the location for a little over twenty years.
