Fort Hood Soldier Accidentally Kills Fellow Soldier Trying to Cure Hiccups
A soldier from Ft. Hood is charged with manslaughter after he allegedly shot a fellow soldier while trying to cure his hiccups.
Jail records show Spc. Patrick Edward Myers of Spartanburg, S.C., is being held on a manslaughter charge with bond set at $1 million. Killeen police say that Myers and the unidentified victim were drinking and watching football on Sunday night (9/23) when the accident happened.
Myers reportedly pointed a gun at the victim to try to scare him in a effort to stop his hiccups. Myers told authorities that he thought he had dummy rounds in the gun.
