(KNUE-FM) Facebook marketplace can be a great thing but can also be dangerous as one lady in East Texas found out recently.

For many of us, Facebook marketplace can be a great way to get things for inexpensive prices, but you don’t really know who is selling you the items until you show up with money, and that is when things can get dangerous quickly.

How the Facebook Marketplace Robbery Unfolded

According to KLTV, there was a juvenile suspect involved in an armed robbery on Wednesday, August 14th. The incident began just after 10:00 a.m. when a police officer saw a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road, the driver reported that she was just robbed at gunpoint in a store parking lot where she planned to meet someone to sell a pair of shoes she had listed on Facebook marketplace.

Police Response and Quick Arrest

It was just minutes after making contact with the woman that officers had shared the suspect's description. Investigators determined the armed robbery suspect live in a nearby apartment complex, they were able to locate the shoes and gun from the robbery, as well as other stolen items from recent car burglaries.

The suspect in this case is a minor and was arrested and taken to Willoughby Detention Center. Due to his age no further information will be released.
