Facebook is finally making the "Dislike" button a reality.

Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said during a Q&A session today that the long-asked-for feature is currently in production and will soon be seen on the world's largest social network.

"I think people have asked about the dislike button for many years. Today is a special day because today is the day I can say we’re working on it and shipping it," Zuckerberg said, according to Business Insider.

Zuckerberg said during the Q&A that Facebook was initially hesitant about installing a Dislike button to go with its "Like" feature, not wanting to make Facebook like Reddit, which uses upvotes and downvotes to prioritize stories, pictures and videos, etc.

The realization for Facebook was that the Dislike button wasn't wanted to disapprove of certain posts, but show a different level of emotion, rather than "liking" a post about someone passing away, a natural disaster or another type of negative situation.

"What they really want is the ability to express empathy. Not every moment is a good moment," Zuckerberg said.

He didn't provide a timeline on when the feature will be fully functional, though it should be expected soon.

So, do you "like" or "dislike" what's coming from Facebook?
