East Texas Show Honors “The Day The Music Died”
It was 58 years ago this Friday, February 3rd, when a plane crash killed 3 young music stars-to-be-legends, 2 of them native Texans.
Lubbock's Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper (J.P. Richardson) of Sabine Pass, along with Ritchie Valens, perished when a severe winter storm took down their small aircraft in Iowa.
To salute their memory & the great songs they created, "Big Sandy Music Hall" presents The Day The Music Died - 58 Winters Later. The show will play at Big Sandy Music Hall in Big Sandy, TX on February 18.
Shea Birdwell as Buddy, Rafael Espinoza as Ritchie, & Gib Maynard as the Bopper will take the stage to perform all the great songs that turned these normal everyday guys into rock & roll legends. Find out more about the show, which actually takes place Saturday February 18th, & get tickets here.
