
East Texas Restaurant Worker Struck and Killed by Lightning
A Lufkin woman who was standing outside the IHOP she worked at holding an umbrella during a storm has died after being hit by lightning.
Lufkin police say the lightning strike happened Tuesday night. The victim, 32-year-old Meshell Foxworth died Tuesday night at Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin.
Lt. Ronny LaRue says medical personnel attempted to transport the victim to a trauma center but the helicopter could not fly in the bad weather.
