
East Texas Man Accused of Setting Roommate on Fire
Police say a Longview man is in jail after pouring lighter fluid onto his roommate as he slept, and setting him on fire.
The Associated Press reports Jeremy Kellum, of Longview, had an argument with roommate, Raymond Hellwig, on Saturday and set Hellwig on fire as he slept.
Kellum was being held Wednesday at the Gregg County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.
Hellwig suffered second-degree leg burns and was taken to a Longview hospital first, and then transferred to a Dallas hospital were he was in fair condition Wednesday.
