Divorce Rates Spike in China After Quarantine
Beware before you quarantine with your soulmate, know that you could be asking for a divorce after it is all said and done. According to the Daily Mail, divorce rates in China have drastically shot up. Why? "Couples are spending too much time together at home," while self-isolating during the horrid pandemic.
Officials in China are convinced that the spike of divorce seekers are all the same folks who chose to self-isolate and are spending way too much time at home with their partners. Full disclosure though, marriage registration offices in China have been closed for almost a month. this could be a factor when delaying divorce applications.
"One district office in China received 14 divorce requests in one day, hitting the upper limit set by the local council, according to theGlobal Times." Clearly China isn't as familiar with divorce as we are in the states.
