Mystery Drink Kills Denton, Texas Pedophile While Guilty Verdict is Being Read

I'm not one to put hate out into the universe, but man, its hard not to hate people who sexually abuse a child. I mean, how sick in the head do you have to be to think its okay to hurt a young child like that. I will never comprehend it. This story doesn't make me sad and shows the cowardice of people like this as a Denton, Texas pedophile died in his holding cell. Its how he died that shows how much of a coward he was.

57 year-old Pedophile Edward Leclair

57 year-old Edward Leclair was on trial on five counts of sexual abuse. In all, he could have faced up to 100 years in prison if found guilty. Well, he was found guilty by a jury of his peers. It was as they were reading that verdict that Leclair decided he didn't want to face his punishment and chugged a water bottle that contained sodium nitrite.

Sodium Nitrite

Sodium nitrite is an oxidizing agent used to preserve foods. If ingested by humans, it can cause low blood pressure and limits oxygen flow inside the body which can lead to death. Amazon was sued over this in 2022 for selling so-called "suicide kits" that contained sodium nitrite. Its also the same substance that actor Matthew Mindler, who starred alongside Paul Rudd in My Idiot Brother, and actress Lindsey Pearlman, who starred in Empire, used to commit suicide (New York Post).

Edward Leclair purchased the bottle of water that morning before the trial day began. As the jury was deliberating, Leclair poured the sodium nitrite into his bottle. As his guilty verdict was read, he chugged the bottle of water. As he was in his holding cell after the verdict had been read, he began to vomit. Emergency services were called. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead (New York Post).

Hard to Feel Sorry

Again, its hard to feel sorry for Mr. Leclair. His sick mind caused him to abuse and take the innocents of young lives. When he was caught and determined to be guilty of his crimes, he took the coward's road and ended his life rather then face his punishment.
