Death of 1-Year-Old East Texas Baby Under Investigation

East Texas authorities are currently investigating the death of a 1-year-old child near Tyler who was killed last Saturday.

According to KLTV 7 in Tyler, the Smith County Sheriff's Department responded to a 911 call in New Chapel Hill that reported a 1-year-old child was injured after a family member backed over the child with their car.

The child, who lived on County Road 290 in New Chapel Hill, died after being transported to a Dallas hospital.
