Everybody say cheese! Especially if you’re a Chipotle lover like myself because starting September 12, the fast food chain will have queso on their menus at all locations.

I am a chips and guacamole guy, but lately I have tasted some good queso, which makes me intrigued on trying it from Chipotle.  WFAA ABC 8 reported that the chain has been testing their queso in 350 restaurants in Southern California and the Colorado area and have now decided to make it worldwide.

Their queso will consist of the following ingredients:

  • aged cheddar cheese
  • tomatillos
  • tomatoes
  • variety of peppers

Chipotle founder, chairman and CEO Steve Ells said queso has been the most requested menu item and they haven’t added it because they didn’t want to use the ‘industrial additives used in most queso dishes.  He said in a statement:

Additives make typical queso very consistent and predictable, but are not at all in keeping with our food culture. Our queso may vary slightly depending on the characteristics of the aged cheddar cheese used in each batch, but using only real ingredients is what makes our food so delicious.

The price of Chipotle’s queso will range from $1.25 to add to a meal or $5.25 for a large order.  Also, Chipotle is so excited about queso being apart of their menu they have a section on their website.  To check it out you can click here.
