Burger Fundraiser Today Helps Tyler’s Homeless Pets
There are dozens of dogs and cats in East Texas waiting to be adopted, but if you've got a full house and you're not in a place to add a pet right now there's another way to help. One Tyler restaurant is donating 20% of its proceeds today to the SPCA of East Texas, and all you have to do is grab a mouth-watering burger or one of their tasty salads and they'll take care of the rest.
This will not be hard. Just swing by and get that Mac N' Cheeseburger, the Bacon Love #9 burger, or the meatless Hippie Chickpea burger if you're so inclined, and the homeless pups will thank you for it. You can pick any menu item and chase it with a shake if you want, and Grub Burger Bar will tally it all up to help the SPCA.
Adopting a pet is one of the most rewarding things I've done. The day I found my mini Pinscher mix named Libby she was in a crate at an adoption event at the neighborhood pet store and she was a nervous wreck as if she didn't know where "home" was. She's the timidest dog ever, but she's a sweet girl who just craves the security of a routine and she found it with us. I'm so glad we wandered into the pet store that day, and that nobody snatched her up before we did. I think she's glad too.
Check out the East Texas shelters and for your adoptable pup, and pay our friends a visit today at Grub Burger Bar to help the SPCA. How great would it be if we cleared the shelters completely and got all of these great pets into permanent homes? We can do this.
Grub Burger Bar is at 6421 South Broadway, Suite 130, Tyler, Texas 75703 and the fundraiser runs all day. Go find yourself a burger, some fries, and a Libby, and it will be a really good day.
