Austin-Based Business Owner Buys Texas Town On Craigslist

Doug Guller, owner of the Austin-based bar and restaurant chain called 'Bikini's,' has purchased Bankersmith, a long-abandoned town in northwestern Kendall County, Texas, and has renamed it Bikinis, Texas.

The unincorporated town is 29 miles north of Boerne, 10 miles south of Fredericksburg and six miles southwest of Luckenbach. The city population is currently zero, but was once a booming railroad town.

Guller, owns several other Austin music venues, says he plans to host several events in the new city each year.

Bikinis, Texas, will be a world-class destination, and I am thrilled to expand the Bikinis brand to include town ownership.

The purchase price and exactly who sold the town were not disclosed. Guller said the deal came together after he saw an online ad for the city on Craigslist. You truly can find everything on the internet!
