This might be the longest prison sentence I have ever heard of issued in Texas, or anywhere for that matter. As one Carthage, Texas man was sentenced to 750 years, which the District Attorney believes is the longest sentence ever handed down in Panola County.

The details of this case were released by KLTV, regarding the extremely long sentence but the punishment fits the crime.

What Charges Lead to Being Sentenced to 750 Years

Monday, October 28th, Judge LeAnn Refferty held a bench trial for 36-year-old Christopher James Williamson out of Carthage. The suspect in this case has been charged with 10 counts of possessing child pornography.

Williamson was originally arrested and charged on February 6th, 2024, on a total of 10 charges, and a bond was then issued at $500,000.

This Texas Child Pornography Case Continues to Get Worse

The details around this crime are horrible. During the trial a sexual assault nurse examiner took the stand and said that not only were the victim's children under the age of 18, but they were all pre-pubescent. Which added to the long sentence after the trial.

Details on the Sentencing for Child Pornography in Panola County

Judge Refferty sentenced Williamson to 75 years for each of the 10 charges he was facing. The sentences will run congruently, which means this suspect will probably be in custody for the rest of his life.

A huge thank you to law enforcement in Panola County for doing everything to keep our community and more importantly our kids safe from predators.
