$35 Million Dollar New Jail Bond Passes in Tyler

After fifteen years of putting a new jail on the bond the voters have finally voted in favor.

AGAINST 2,136

The May ballot was for $35 million dollars which would help alleviate jail overcrowding issues in Smith County.  The bond is going to cost Tyler tax payers about $13 per year.
