According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, three teenagers, none who were even old enough to drive, climbed in an SUV on New Year's Day and decided to throw eggs at other cars on a busy road in Houston. One of the drivers of the cars that was hit began to chase the SUV, and that's when things turned tragic.

Police say the 14-year-old driver ran a red light and struck another vehicle, killing a 45-year-old woman later identified as Silvia Zavala. Surveillance video from nearby businesses captured the crash (from Click 2 Houston):

Now that teen faces a murder charge and the Zavala family faces the new year without a beloved family member.

According to Click 2 Houston, the driver chasing the teens did not stop at the crash scene. HCSO has identified that driver and are in the process of interviewing that person.

The 14-year-old driver suffered a broken ankle and the other two teens had non life- threatening injuries.

It is unknown if the teen passengers will face any charges.
