“She’s different, in every way” — those are the words used in the second trailer for ‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ (which is arguably less frenetic than the first) to describe Rooney Mara’s mohawk-sporting titular character.

In this remake of the Swedish film (which was an adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s hit book trilogy) , directed by David Fincher, Daniel Craig portrays journalist Mikael Blomkvist, who is assisted by computer hacker Lisbeth Salander (played by Mara) in his quest to find a missing woman.

‘Dragon Tattoo’ co-stars Stellan Skarsgard and Christopher Plummer recently had kind words for Mara’s work in the film. “Obviously, Fincher wanted to go with someone even younger than the Swedish version,” said Skarsgard. “He wanted someone more vulnerable, more androgynous, and I think it pays off.” Plummer believes that Mara’s youthful look and innocence contribute to her “very frightening” performance.

Former Nine Inch Nails leader Trent Reznor and English musician/composer Atticus Ross have written the score for ‘Dragon Tattoo.’ They previously teamed up to write the Academy Award-winning original score for another Fincher film, ‘The Social Network.’

‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ arrives in theaters December 21.
