Aerosmith to Play on Idol?

American Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe recently revealed that Aerosmith are on tap to perform on the show, yet guitarist Joe Perry hasn’t heard anything about it. The rocker told the Boston Herald, “No one’s said a word to me.” Joe added that all he knows is the band is recording this summer then touring in South America and possibly Japan, though the latter may be up in the air due to the tragedy in that country. Tonight, the American Idol auditions roll into Austin, Texas. We'll see some singers who have made it to the Top 40, some angry auditions, and a woman who clucks like a chicken.

Ryan Seacrest tweeted that the producers are giving us an apology at the top of the episode. We're guessing it's about the video with off-key Boy Scout Chris Cordeiro. In a segment with Cordeiro's family, a young girl has a upper body wardrobe malfunction. FOX has since censored the video.
