Substitute Teacher Arrested for Being Drunk on First Day of School
Well, hello! The Ashburn, Va., Sheriff's Office say this teacher, Jaqueline Barnes, was charged for being drunk in public on the first day of school.
Authorities say Monday morning when school started, school personnel told a school officer that a teacher had arrived at the Stone Hill Middle School and looked to be very intoxicated.
A school spokesperson said Barnes was seen "acting erratically" before school started. The school spokesperson said that in similar cases the teacher is usually taken off the role at the school.
