Slash Surprises ‘School of Rock’ Broadway Cast by Jamming Guns N’ Roses Classics With Them
Guns N’ Roses legend Slash recently surprised the cast of the Broadway play School of Rock. While the kids jammed some GN’R classics during a rehearsal, Slash quietly walked onstage with his guitar to perform with the youngsters.
Guns N’ Roses’ monumental reunion tour came through the Northeast this past week. Before rocking GN’R’s stadium gigs, Slash gave the School of Rock kids the thrill of a lifetime. As the young musicians ripped through “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” Slash emerged from the shadows with guitar in hand, bringing joy and surprise to the students’ faces.
Rolling Stone caught the session on camera, showing how singer Bobbi MacKenzie didn’t even realize Slash was on stage until “Sweet Child O’ Mine” was finished. Before taking off, Slash stuck around to play “Paradise City” with the kids, with young guitarist Brandon Niederauer intently watching Slash work his magic from beginning to end.
"It was really cool to meet such an enthusiastic and talented bunch of young rock 'n' rollers," Slash told Rolling Stone. "They were great kids as well as players."
