Generally speaking, being 2,473rd at anything is not good, but we don’t think you’ll hear Slash complaining as the guitar great will get the 2,473rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next month.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce just revealed that the musician will be honored during a ceremony on July 10 at 11:30AM in from of the Hard Rock Cafe on Hollywood Boulevard. Slash will be saluted Hollywood legend / director Robert Evans and his longtime neighbor and friend, actor Charlie Sheen.

Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremonies, explained, “Slash is widely considered one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time. We are proud to place his name among the starts on our fabled Hollywood Walk of Fame.”

Not only will Slash be on hand to accept the honor, he’ll also pair up with singer Myles Kennedy for a private acoustic performance and exclusive Q&A session at the Hard Rock Cafe after the ceremony.

Hard Rock has also created a limited edition pin to commemorate the historic moment, with only 300 being sold at the Hollywood Boulevard establishment. All proceeds from the sales of the pins will go to two of Slash’s favorite charities — the Los Angeles Youth Network and the Hollywood Historic Trust.

Slash’s legacy in Los Angeles is unquestioned. He was honored in 2010 at the Sunset Strip Music Festival for his dedication to the city’s music scene. It was there that he began his career as a member of Guns N’ Roses. It was just in April of this year that he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with the other classic GN’R members. He followed his time in Guns with stints in Slash’s Snakepit, Velvet Revolver and most recently as a solo artist.

Slash and his current backing band, Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, recently released the guitarist’s sophomore set, ‘Apocalyptic Love.’ Check out our review and photo gallery of their gig in New York City.
