The Olympics are in full swing in London, with the U.S. team racking up medals in many different sports.  Linkin Park are showing their appreciation for the U.S. Olympic team by inviting them to attend one of their upcoming concerts for free.

Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda posted an invitation on their Facebook page: “Thanks for your hard work and dedication in representing the U.S. at the London Olympics. When you return home, my bandmates and I cordially invite each and every one of you to be our guest at a Linkin Park concert of your choice on the upcoming Honda Civic Tour in the U.S., with Incubus and Mutemath. Show dates are here. We have already reached out to the USOC; they’ll put us in touch. We hope to meet you soon. Until then, we’ll be rooting for you here at home.”

Linkin Park will be touring support of their recent No. 1 album ‘Living Things.’  The 2012 Honda Civic Tour kicks off Aug. 11 in Bristow, Va.  Linkin Park and Incubus will each play full headlining sets. Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington says, ““Obviously we’re bringing our fans together and turning some fans on to Incubus, and they can turn some fans onto Linkin Park.”

Some of the tickets on the tour will be sold to benefit Music For Relief, a non-profit organization started by Linkin Park that supports disaster relief and works to reduce global warming.

Is Michael Phelps a Linkin Park fan? Does Gabby Douglas have ‘Living Things’ on her iPod?  Does the men’s basketball team use ‘We Made It’ to pump them up before games?  We’ll find out which athletes take the band up on their generous offer when the tour kicks off.
