Hank Aaron Hit Home Run No. 715 40 Years Ago Today

It was April 8, 1974 when Atlanta Braves outfielder Hank Aaron drove an Al Downing pitch into the bullpen of Atlanta Fulton-County Stadium to hit his 715th home run, breaking Babe Ruth’s record.

Tonight the Braves will play the New York Mets and will commemorate Aaron’s 40th anniversary moment.

Many ex-teammates and commissioner Bud Selig, who worked Aaron with the Milwaukee Brewers, will be in attendance.

Do you remember when Hank passed the Babe?
