Former NFL Rams Linebacker Dies in Van Zandt Co. Wreck
A former All-Pro Linebacker for the Los Angeles Rams has died after the limousine he was driving was struck twice on Highway 198 near Mabank.
A DPS preliminary report stated that at 10 p.m. Dec. 6, Isaiah Robertson, Jr., 69, of Garland, was driving north on Highway 198 at an unsafe speed. He lost control around a curve and skidded partially into the road, facing west.
A vehicle headed north struck the limousine, pushing it into the southbound lanes where it was struck again by a second vehicle. Robertson was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
According to KLTV, Robertson had left a speaking engagement at Grand Prairie ISD around 9 p.m.
