Some thought it would be a sequel, and others thought it was just a commercial set to run during the Super Bowl. The latter would be right, as the news broke today on the mystery "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" video made its way around the interwebs yesterday.

According to Jalopnik, a site devoted to cars, sources told them the commercial is being used for Honda. The site says the commercial will mimic the movie and go as far as replacing the famous red Ferrari (owned by Cameron's dad, of course) with a Honda CR-V.

Jalopnik reports Honda would not confirm or deny if the commercial was their doing, although the company did confirm a commercial for the Super Bowl, which is Feb. 5 in Indianapolis.

This has to make us 1980s movie purists happy, because a 49-year-old Matthew Broderick playing Ferris Bueller in a sequel? Not so much.

Here's the video again in case you missed it last night. It has already received almost 1.3 million views since it was posted on YouTube yesterday.
