Is This Really The BEST Mexican Restaurant in Texas?
We talk about it all the time, we are so fortunate in Texas to have so many fantastic restaurants. And when we are talking about Mexican restaurants specifically, we are beyond spoiled. And the great thing is there is a great Mexican restaurant for whatever you’re craving. Although it is a very difficult question, would it be possible to name one Mexican restaurant in Texas as the very best?
It would be so much fun to visit every Mexican restaurant across the state of Texas, but it would seriously take you years to make that happen. Which is why I was so interested in the article published by 24/7 Tempo, they worked with Yelp reviewers to identify the best Mexican restaurant in every state in the country. The only catch was that the restaurant had to be in or near a city with a population of 100,000 or more.
I’m Not Sure They Got It Right?!?
When I look at who they picked for the best Mexican restaurant in Texas I also looked at other ratings for states around us on the list. The states were listed alphabetically but how in the world could Utah and Tennessee both have higher ranked restaurants than what we have in Texas. Very interesting if you ask me.
Who Did They Pick As the Best in Texas?
It’s a popular restaurant in Austin called Fonda San Miguel. A big reason as to why they claimed the top spot in Texas is because they focus so much on authentic Mexican cuisine. Which sounds delicious and the next time I visit Austin I know where I will be having dinner.
