We’ve all seen bizarre sports before, but “wife carrying” definitely takes the cake. ‘Good Morning America’ takes an inside look at the 2011 North American Wife Carrying Championships (which is apparently a real thing) that takes place in Maine.

This competition gives new meaning to the phrase, “Take my wife. Please!” 

Almost 50 couples participated in the event, which required husbands to run an obstacle course while also carrying their wives. (This event needs to be a reality show on NBC yesterday.)

And, in case you’re wondering, the couple pictured here isn’t wrestling. Instead, the man is carrying his wife using a technique called the “Estonian” method. Well, whatever it’s called, it sure looks uncomfortable.
