The endless mystery approach to American Horror Story Season 6 has proven … trying, to say the least, but however it pays off, future seasons won’t use the same approach. So says creator Ryan Murphy, who also claims the story connections will “explode” in Seasons 7 and 8.

If ever a horror franchise seemed tailor-made for Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights, American Horror Story would be it. So it is, that this fall will bring us a new maze attraction based on select seasons of Ryan Murphy’s FX fever dream, scary clowns and all.

FX bosses have made clear that American Crime Story would plumb a broader criminal focus than The People v. O.J. Simpson, noting early on that Hurricane Katrina would form Season 2's main story. Now, we know the as-yet-untitled follow-up will take advantage of additional episodes, casting some of the nation’s most notable figures.

American Horror Story is nowhere near finished clawing at you last nerve with Season 6's mystery approach, but they wouldn’t dream of a season without undeniable icon and Emmy nominee Sarah Paulson, right? Thankfully, FX knows at at least that much, setting Paulson’s return for American Horror Story Season 6.

American Horror Story: Spider-Eyes. American Horror Story: Spider-Face. Whatever it is, the first Season 6 poster sure isn’t about to tell us, and maybe it’s time FX and Ryan Murphy drop this precious teasing, and just clue fans in on the next season already.

The Americans was lucky enough to end on its own terms, plotting a final two seasons over an abrupt cancellation, but unless we’re going all Tarantino in the end, outlook is not so good for our Russian spies. That said, star Matthew Rhys has apparently pitched his own vision of the final seasons, with plenty of historical merit, but one FX flatly rejected out of hand.

It’s not the type of show to bring any flashy presentation to Comic-Con, but we’re still excited for a look at Louie star Pamela Adlon’s FX Better Things, if not on the strength of its first teasers, than by C.K.’s involvement. The first full trailer makes a strong case as well, debuting well before the September premiere.

Just when you thought FX might finally unveil of American Horror Story Season 6, the curtain stops halfway. We at least know when the mysterious sixth season will premiere, while the network also sets dates for Donald Glover’s Atlanta and Pamela Adlon’s Better Things.

We’re curiously late in the year to not know which direction American Horror Story will head in its sixth season, but production will nonethless kick off to make an October premiere. To wit, American Horror Story Season 6 may start filming in June, or at least July, with comedian Leslie Jordan returning from Coven.

Just a few short weeks ago, Sons of Anarchy boss Kurt Sutter gave a vague update that the FX biker drama spinoff had moved forward, something the network now formalizes. Not only does the tentatively-titled Mayans MC spinoff has a script order, but a co-creator and showrunner in Little Birds alum Elgin James.

Louis C.K.’s self-financed and produced Horace and Pete gave the comedian a major creative high, enough that FX’s Louie seems like a distant memory, but the unorthodox financing may have caught up with him, According to C.K. himself, lackluster sales of the streaming series place him “millions of dollars in debt,” at least for now.

Deadline Hollywood is reporting Foo Fighters frontman, Dave Grohl, is going to be the executive producer for a new half-hour comedy series on FX. The show is being developed by comedian Dana Gould and revolves around a troubled rock band that goes into therapy in order to stay together. Dave has a great sense of humor, so this should be right up his alley!
