Millions of birds will travel through Texas.

The most common bird in Texas is not the woodpecker, although that is in the top ten. In addition to being everywhere this spring, birds also hold a key to happiness. Until the droppings end up on the newly-washed car anyway.

It dawned on me that perhaps some of the wild creatures may be struggling to find food when the ground is covered with snow and ice. Turns out, they are.

The weather should be a little warmer this weekend, so it will be a good one to take a walk around parts of the lake trail at Tyler State Park to look for birds! It's the last official day for birding, and the viewing should be at a peak.
