We've heard some absolutely insane and weird crimes committed in Texas. You can make a case that while these might not be the CRAZIEST ones out there, but these are truly some of the weirdest ones EVER committed in the Lone Star State.

This Texas civilian impersonated a police officer by using a Chipotle gift card

Pretending to be a police officer is illegal. Pretending to be a police officer while having a fake badge that's actually a gift card from a Mexican restaurant is down right stupid. That's exactly what Adan Juarez Ramirez from Grapevine, Texas did.

He was pulled over after someone called 911 and claimed they were pulled off by a pickup truck with red & blue flashing lights. Just a heads up...don't think trying this yourself. You WILL get busted. Just use the gift card as an actual gift card.

This El Paso man vandalized & ransacked a church

Isaac Jordan Soto-Olivarez was arrested after he spray painted "666" all over the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He also caused over $4,000 worth of damages done to the property & was caught with stolen items on his person.

A Texas man was arrested for cheating during a fishing tournament

Robby Rose has made a name for himself in the world of fishing, but not in the way he wanted. The Garland, Texas resident was arrested after he was caught illegally stuffing a 1 pound weight into a 9-pound bass to win a Bud Light Trail Lake Ray Hubbard Big Bass Tournament. If it was a local tournament, police wouldn't have really been involved. However... since the grand prize was a a bass boat worth $55,000, THAT is a felony.

Bobby was caught & was sentenced to 15 days in state jail, a $3,000 fine, and five years' probation and the surrender of his fishing license during probation.

This Texas man had a hankering for Ruffles so he stole a truck

We've all had urges to get some chips but Jeff Jetin took it one step further. He stole a truck FULL of Ruffles chips from a Walmart in Bexar County. Police pursed Jeff until he crashed the truck into a garage of someone's one. Jeff ran on foot but was caught quickly. Maybe next time he has cravings for chips, he'll just buy them from the store...

This Texas man nearly killed a 600 year old tree

Finally we come to the case of Paul Stedman Cullen, a man who was arrested under suspicion of spraying hexazinone on a historic oak tree in Austin's Treaty Oak. The reason why? He was in love...This seems like a VERY weird way to express one's love but...what do we know right?

Jeff was arrested in 1989 & after a very lengthy trail, he was sentenced to 9 years in prison & had to pay a $1,000 fine. While the effects suffered by the tree still linger, it's still surviving in Austin.
